Neat little AA5
#1

Picked up this nifty little 1947 Coronado "Jewel" radio at the Iola Car Show swap meet two weeks ago. The cabinet was cracked in about 4 places, so after repairing the cracks, I painted it the optional Ivory White color. It's Model 43-8160. A very small (6x5x4) art-deco styled 5 tube radio. Fits nicely on my book shelf! Icon_thumbup

Neet indeed!

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Ya, neat! Icon_thumbup  And I'm not even into the plastic sets!

Super nice dial, may I ask how does she sound, sensitivity? Sometimes the little ones surprise. Little is good with me, space issues.

Hi Paul,

She sounds pretty good. Gets the local stations strong and clear. This was missing the back and loop antenna, so I did my best to construct a wire loop that would fit against the new back I constructed. I'm sure originally, with the correct back and antenna, it was more responsive, but I'm satisfied with what it does receive. It was in really rough, filthy condition when I got it.

Very nice job Greg. Cute little bugger.

I think the contrast of the white with the Red dial and the gold cloth is a good combo.
