42-PT-3 or PT-12 Transitone?
#1

I believe this radio was constructed in this way on account of material shortages during 1942...
I recently sold a believed to be 42-PT-3 judging by the appearance of cabinet, however the chassis included is a 6 tube line up same as used in the model PT-12 and several others with different cosmetics.
  Chassis number is T47958.
Any idea what model this is?  (or hybrid) info appreciated!
Thanks,
Kent

Just realized Larry had posted this already in "help identify radio"...
However no one really knows exactly what model this is...
All I know about it is that it was purchased by a young man in H.S. as a birthday gift for his sister
right after WWII had first started...after she passed away in the 1990's, he inherited it back
I received it from him along with other vintage ham radio items about 2, 3 years ago, he was about 94 at the time and had lost his hearing.
Don't believe he's around anymore to write to about it.
