1951 Philco TV remote control?
#1

1951 Philco TV remote control?

I'm preparing a PowerPoint lecture and want to mention remote control technology for TVs.

An old post on ARF mentions a wired remote control for a Philco 51-T2176 television.

Supposed to have a spring loaded wire reel with pendant switch head.

Are there any advertisements or service literature showing the mechanism? All I've found is one picture of a chassis but it of such low resolution as to be useless for my needs.

Thanks,
Robert

Here's an ad with a remote on it.  Not realhigh res though. Click on the 192k image.

Thanks for the link. I don't know why, but when I went to Google Images for my Philco search, it was not there but when I searched again later, there it was...

That will fill the bill for now...

All the best,
Robert

The ETF has a scan of the Sams Photofact for this set that contains service info and photos of the remote mechanism.  Start on page 27 (PDF page 26).

Is there a reference somewhere where you can punch in Philco part numbers and see what models those parts were used in?Jim Dutridge — 10:17 AM
