So that 16 is an E-cap. Kinda wondered as it is polarized.
I will have to look and see what that other cap is attached to.

Yes the + connects to the cathode of the tube and - to the chassis.
When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's

Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Correct again Terry,
Found a schematic and the .1 mfd cap goes to one of the 6K7 tubes.
Replaced it with a new cap and attached the flexible resistor and it seems that it took care of the static problem.
Will have to play it for a while and see.
