Philco 116B chassis restoration
#46

I finished putting this 116B back together but it really does pay to look at the photos rather than doing the dial mech from memory....I had more knobs than places to put them when I got to this point...  Icon_redface

OK, got that sorted out and when I fired it up the first time I was getting a good strong AM station.   I am always amazed when they work after doing all the cap replacements and in this case some surgery on the shadow meter.  I still need to clean up the chassis more and do an alignment, perhaps readjust the dial indicator mask to better match the dial scale, and continue to look for a fully functional output transformer but knowing it is working makes all the difference in moving forward and grinding through the cabinet stripping.

Bob, one of the things I noticed on mine is the tendency for the shadow graph mounting bracket to get bent so that the meter points slightly upward. It does not appear that yours is that way, but I thought that I would mention it.

Thanks Russ, I will check for that but I think it is OK.
