46-350 handle repair question - newbie
#1

New to Phorum, accidentally posted this Q in the electronic repair section, apologies for that, should have slowed down and read the sticky thread at the top.

I need to replace the leather strap handle on this case, not sure how the metal covers at each end of the handle are removed and am hesitant to pry.  Any insights are welcome.

Once handle is off, I will also be cleaning up the cabinet, it is in pretty good shape, but needs q-tip cleaning work and some renewing of the finish to make it look right.  The goal there is not to look like new, just a little better than it is.

I will post photos of the radio in its current state, and then as I proceed.

Hi Jan -

The metal strap ends are screwed in from below the cabinet. The chassis needs to be removed to access them.
Good luck!

Thanks,
Paul

OK, thanks Paul.

In looking into the cabinet, it appears that the internal antenna needs to also come out to expose the area where you say the screw mounts are.  Any advice on removing the antenna?  Precaitions?

Jan
