Capacitor color code?
#1

Im new to working on electronics. I did do alittle work when I was in highschool but that was along time ago. Anyhow Im working on an old philco console record player. It has a pre amp that probaly needs new capacitors. I came across two of them that are color coded. They look very simular to a resistor. They are round and are black about a half inch in diameter, and 1 1/2 inches tall. The colors bands are yellow, purple, orange, black and blue. Wich end do you start from? Could it be a .047 uf ? Or .06 uf ? or am I way off? All the other capacitors are 400 volts. Is this one 400 volts also? does that mean the yellow is the last band? I can't seem to find any info. on this machine. Model H1816, sr 21246. Does anyone know ware I can look up some info? Thank you.

That's 4, 7, three zeros, for .047 as you suspected. Blue is 600 volts. These are always leaky by now and will definitely need replacing.

Ok thanks
