Philco 41-255
#1

        Afternoon
I posted earlier about replacing the speaker in this radio and I got it sorted out, I put in a choke and a ceramic resistor to make up the rest of the resistance and finished the recap. Powered up and it really plays so good I've put off doing an alignment. My problem is with the push buttons. We have two really strong AM stations here 750kc and 680kc where I live.
I can preset the 750kc on #1-4 buttons but get nothing trying to pick up 680. I have read while doing a search that Dual Capacitor 21 & 21A each is 370pf should be replaced as it can drift. Is this the problem?  On the regular dial I have no issue picking up 680kc and lower. Sorry the print leaves a lot to be desired.

Buttons are 1-3 540-1060kc
                 4-5  650-1110kc

I've had a couple '41 sets that that capacitive  divider has drifted and the p/b oscillator coils won't tune down to the end of the bcb.
I'd replace both 370mmfd caps 21 and 21A.

figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Changed it out this morning and 680 and a more faint station were tuned in. It was easier to change out than it looked. Thanks for the input.

Eric
