Rogers 10-85 cabinet all done

I like these Rogers radios,especially some of the cabinets.
 I picked this one up last fall and during the winter I did the chassis,
and replaced the top veneer.
 Now I finally got the cabinet done.

Do you have the signal strength indicator working? It is an interesting circuit.

I suppose I am like a lot of other guys on these forums. I have not have any training in radio repair , or electronics.
So I don't understand a whole lot of the in and outs of how everything works. So to answer your question,
I did not know that the radio had a signal strength indicator. Sorry about that.

I guess I just replace the caps,check the tubes,and resistors ,clean the pots, and align the radio.
When it works OK after that I basically leave it alone.
It is my hobby , and I do enjoy it , but I am learning more about radios every day, and I hope it keeps me young.

There is a small light bulb in the dial scale that is tied to a grid on one of the IF tubes. As the signal changes, this bulb glows brighter. The reason that I asked is because it is hard to find a suitable bulb. I used one of the very small "grain of wheat" bulbs.  - - going from memory - - It is easy to miss this function altogether.

Now I unde5stand what you mean by a ''signal strength indicator''

 I guess I just call it a tuning light,   On my Rogers 10-12 There are two of them, and on my Rogers 6R932 there is one in the very center if the cabinet.
   I also have one in my DeForest Crosley 'Buckingham, and some of the tombstone models have them also.
 
 It took me quite a while to find the right bulb,but once I did  I ordered 20 of them, because I am always running into Rogers radios.
  The biggest thing about the bulbs,   [I found ] was the amps had to be just right
  The bulbs that do the job are   #1448.
