38-2 socket voltages question
#1

Hi, Im going through a 38-2 and have checked socket voltages. I attached a photo of my readings. Most are pretty close and i have a few which are somewhat off: the 6j5, 6n7 and the electrolytics which are new. I have recapped, and resistors where needed.
In general what am I looking for? is +-20% acceptable? thanks

I'd have a look @ the 190v line seems low @ 164v.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

are the tubes supposed to be out or in the chassis?

In. All of them. For instants if you removed the 5X4 you would have no high voltage at all.

alright all those measurements were with tubes in place. Im going to put it on the bench again today and ohm out some more resistors

Not only with tubes in place but with the speaker in too.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
