Odd Colored Hallicrafters Radio
#1

Stopped in at my buddy's shop this morning to pick up a few tubes when he offered me a nice, fully recapped Hallicrafters 5R41 or 5R42 complete with fragile, but intact owner's manual. The only thing that has us both confused about this radio is the coloration. We can't find any other like it online, but the color looks as old as the radio. If someone did repaint it in the past, they did a good job! Nice little battery/AC set with four tubes. Sounds pretty good as well for what it is and as a bonus I ended up with a Magnavox AM-FM portable (late enough to be made in Japan) we had moved around his back room for ages. Even that cleaned up well and works.

No matter where you go, there you are.
