Help to identify Philco Radio located in Australia
#1

Hi

Is there anyone that can help me identify this Philco radio eg particular model, date of manufacture. My mother has it but it originally belonged to my grandmother. I'm thinking from the 30s or 40s.

It's not in working order or at least I would never attempt to plug it in.

Sorry, I thought I had a full photo of the front and will take a photo when I can.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The power transformer has a built in switch to change the input voltage. In the 1950s WA had a line voltage of 260 volts AC at 50 HZ, Victoria 230 volts AC at 50 HZ. The set may have been made in the UK or Canada. The dial is not something from the USA with the stations listed by territories. The cabinet being local will be hard to match with pictures in the gallery. Hope you have the tubes or a list. If possible a picture of the speaker back. Please send a 6 pack of Coopers Pale Ale to who ever can ID the set. David

Many thanks for your reply David.

I'll post some more pictures when I can.

Cheers
