Arran Wrote: Those books are pretty much defunct ... I still find them useful - they contain more than just prices and photos, such as tube lineups for some chassis. I have the CD-ROM edition which combines the first four volumes, and using it is a lot faster than looking online. Dale H. Yeah, definitely a BL200 (if a 5 tube set). Emerson made several transformer powered chassis in 1937 including the BL, L, R and others. I have a Westinghouse WR217; the chassis is an R model, made by Emerson. There should be a sticker on the bottom of the radio.
Here is a link to the radio on Radiomuseum: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/emerson_bl200.html Here is the schematic from Nostalgia Air: https://www.nostalgiaair.org/pdfs/Emerso...-BL200.pdf Definitely a repaint, the Emerson logo above the dial is in gold on factory finish radios. I have a few Emersons. Mom in Law's husband's father was an engineer for Emerson. Never met him though. Emerson was one of many radios made in the Long Island City, Queens area and surroundings when it was a manufacturing hub for such companies as Eagle Electric, Swingline staplers, Ronzoni pasta, Silvercup bread, Bulova watches (and radios) Executone communications and PA systems, etc. Almost all of this are gone. The Silvercup building is now a movie studio, Silvercup Studios. Grebe was a few miles to the east in what was Richmond Hill and is now Jamaica. Steinway Pianos is still in the area in nearby Astoria. "Do Justly, love Mercy and walk humbly with your God"- Micah 6:8 "Let us begin to do good"- St. Francis Best Regards, MrFixr55

MrFixr - Would that be your Step-Grand-Father-In-Law? Think about your birthday card to him. :-p

Hi Rod,
The relationship is a little bit unclassifiable. Mom in Law was a widow for many years. Ms. Fixr's dad died when Ms. Fixr was 10. Mom in Law knew the man who became her second husband for many years but did not become romantic with him until after our marriage. He was involved with the family, but was not a father figure. She married this man after all 3 of her children were married. So Ms. Fixr doesn't consider her mom's second husband her stepfather. This did not bother him. I had offered to go with him to see his father (who was 91 and blind at the time) but he turned me down. I wish I had met him. Mom in law died at the age of 88 in 2014. Her husband was in mid stage Alzheimer's Syndrome at the time, so he lived with us until his death. He was happy living with us and not a lot of work, thank God. We were extrememl concerned because he was an alcoholic, but thank God, he forgot that he drank and did not mis it.
