connecting eico 324 audio or rf connectors

hope you can help i have a eico 324 with cables i have the schematic for philco 46-1226 and the manual for eico the problem is the manual it is very hard to understand i know where to put the probe i just know which one to use it has audio out
and rf on right with a 2 prong plug the radio has a hum and i would like to inject a 455 hz to the test points i tried the rf just got a louder hum hope this makes since

Have you tested the generator to see if work? Set the band switch to the band that cover the broadcast band. Set modulation for internal (this will give you a 400cy tone) Set rf output for max. Set the frequency on the generator to 1400kc and tune a working receiver to the same.Connect the generator output(cable on the right)to the antenna post of the receiver. If it is working you will hear a 400cy in your receiver.
If you want to eject a signal into the IF,though a small cap hook it to the plate of mixer tube. Be careful as there is HV at this point
You may want to deal with the hum problem first.
