Simplex Radio - Speaker
#1

I have found an old, 1932-34, Simplex cathedral radio. Simplex was based in Sanduskey Ohio and was bought by Philco in 1937 I believe. The most obvious issue is that it does not have a speaker. I understand that the speakers of this era have both a field coil and a voice coil. Will a Philco speaker from the same vintage work? Are such available? I have a schematic of the Simplex. I have heard of some modern workarounds, but I think I would prefer to get an old replacement if it would work. Any thoughts?
Thanks

I realize this is a prehistoric post but I've come across a few Simplex set myself. So if you(wahook) are still are around I'd like to chat. I found this post looking for some Simplex ad info on Google.
Tnx
Terry

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!
