Grill cloth problems
#1

I'm having problems with my new grill cloth sagging. I'm using an upholstery fabric with fiber backing, glued to a heavy weight cardboard using fabric glue. The cloth is sagging at each of the openings. I'm thinking that the glue is shrinking & stretching the fabric. Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

An underwire bra will generally prevent sagging. Icon_wink

Gravity is the monster some of us can not escape as has been pointed out. Tits inevatible.

If I am going to re-mount a pice of grill cloth on a cardboard, I get it damp then use a number of of sewing pins pins to pull it straight abd get it aligned, and then a drizzle of elmer's along the edges where the sun will never shine again, and leave it till the next day.

Zapping the backside very lightly with several coats of spray can lacquer will stiffen it up. Don't spray so much that it 'wets' because that will show through.

Thanks y'all!
