660 Chassis into 640 or 650 cabinet
#1

Will a 660 chassis fit properly into a 640 or 650 tabletop cabinet?

The 660 chassis is clearly punched out for a different tube layout and additional tubes compared to the 640/650, but the dimensions look to be the same. Then there's the dial and control shafts....

Hi Pete

No, it will not. The 660 chassis is physically larger than the 640 and 650 chassis. In fact the 660 chassis is the same size as a 116 chassis.

Thanks Ron. I had thought I could fill an empty 650 cabinet with a 660 chassis.

Also, welcome back.

Thank YOU, Pete. Icon_biggrin

For whatever reason, Philco did not make Model 660 (or 665) available as a tombstone in 1936 - only as consoles. Yet the 116 WAS available as a tombstone. Strange.
