need help diagnosing philco 60 issue
#1

I was adjusting the tuning dial (it was a little off position) and some how knocked off my entire signal recieving capability. All my 60 (code 122) does now is emit a rushing (white noise) sound . The volume of it can not be controled by the volume knob.I had it turned on its side while i was woring on it, and i dont know if maybee i crossed a wire and blew out a cap or did something much worse.

I could really use some help here.
thankyou

Since the volume control doesn't work, look at the components after it in the schematic. Try replacing the tubes if you have spares, especially the 75 and the 42. The elements inside could have shorted while on their sides with power applied.

i did what you said and it worked!!!! thanks!!!!

Glad to help, and good thing it wasn't more complicated than a shorted tube. The 60 is an attractive radio, someday I'd like to find one in restorable shape.
