Canadian model 37 3660???
#1

  I have a Philco console with the model number  37 3660  code 121.
  I can't seem to find out what schematic I can use  with this radio..  I believe it is the same as the 37 660, but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Dan, I think you are correct.  According to Ron, "For several years, most of Philco Products Ltd.'s radio were identical to their USA counterparts, carrying similar model numbers with a "3" prefix to denote Canadian manufacture."

I don't see the 37-3660 in Ron's index of Canadian sets however so perhaps Ron or Arran will chime in on this one.

Dan;
  I suspect that the 37-3660 should be in the RCC manuals, so if there are an differences between it and the U.S version it will show on whatever diagram they have in there. I don't have Canadian Philco service manuals for those years, I have a binder full of service folders spanning 1928-37 with the odd note made by my uncle about the Canadian near equivalents, such as tube changes or what the 25 cycle version was called. I can check to see if any note were made about a 37-660 and it's Canadian counterpart, but again the actual diagram will be in the RCC manuals.

I have the RCC manuals in PDF format, which are (or were) sold on CD by Ed Krushar (sp?). Neither the RCC index or manuals list a 37-3660.

The information in my Canadian set index came mainly from a July 1942 document issued by Philco Products Ltd. It also did not list a 37-3660.

Assuming your 37-3660 has nine tubes and otherwise appears the same as the USA 37-660 (check here for frequency coverage), then you can probably use USA 37-660 documentation.

I do not know why there is no Canadian listing for a 37-3660.

 You all have me curious now, I will have to see what my set of RCC manuals actually has in it, does it have a 37-660, a 37-3660, or nothing?

   Since this radio is out in my shed at the moment, and it is cold outside, I will get out there later today and make a tube count and recheck the model number.
  I would not want you people going on a wild goose chase if my numbers are wrong.
