Where does
#1

the 41-300 fit into the 1941 lineup of sets? Short of having a bol and a mystery control is it the top of line? I really like the curvy speaker grille.

Speakin' from experience, eh?

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

I think that is a spectacular design and would love to add one to my collection. I am sure it is a lite weight compared to some of the 20's consoles I have.

I find a lot of the 20's consoles quite plain or really gawady but all weigh a ton.

In the initial 1941 Philco model year lineup, the 41-300 is second from the top of the line 41-316 which has wireless remote control. The 300 has more tubes in the audio section, though, making it (arguably) the better radio overall.

You don't know how tempted I was to sneak that big honkin' set into my Excursion! Icon_wink But it was already pretty well packed...plus I'm trying to cut back on big consoles around here, not add more...

That's like trying to sneak out of a car dealership with an Excursion under your overcoat. [Image: http://philcoradio.com/phorum/images/smi...prised.gif]It's a hard set to hide. I felt a little bad cause I knew you where sort of looking for one but Kirk and I had been trying to get this down to me since last fall. Sam was giving me the evil eye [Image: http://philcoradio.com/phorum/images/smi...wisted.gif]because I had forgotten that it was coming us back here along with a fair amount other big and or heavy stuff that didn't sell. Heard you did pretty good with the pushbutton set at the end of the table.[Image: http://philcoradio.com/phorum/images/smi...humbup.gif]

Oh, H**l, don't feel bad, Terry. Icon_smile I do admire those big 1941 Philcos but I have to limit myself, console-wise, these days.

At first I didn't know what you were referring to...what pushbutton set?...and then it dawned on me what you meant. Thank you, Terry...you helped make it happen! Icon_thumbup
