Scott 800 Console, New to the Collection
#16

Looks like it may be a model 356 (33 - 45 - 78 rpm) so it is a bit newer than the radio, likely a replacement made after LPs and 45s were introduced.

Congrats on a great find! Icon_thumbup

Ron,

I will keep digging but from what another fellow radio head, Norman @AFR found on these, apparently Scott made a bunch of chassis in 1946-47 and shipped them until possibly 1951 with whatever turntable was available at that time.

Saw a few others in ads over the years with the same turntable.  A mystery is afoot.
I will look for date codes and report back later.

Thanks,

Mike

OK...

Disclaimer: I'm not a Scott expert and did not realize that Scott was still selling the 800 as late as 1951. Icon_confused I only know that the W-C 356 would have been made after the introduction of the LP and 45. So it would have been entirely "correct" in a set produced in 1950-51 and possibly 1949, but certainly not earlier.

If you get the chassis re-chromed:
