Other Radios (Non-Philco) all aglow gather here
#1

Since the lighted dial pics seem to be popular, why stop at just Philcos! Here's a thread to post your dial pics all aglow for those non-Philco brands in your collection. Here are a few of mine....some are just radios I worked on:

1939 RCA Victor Model 96T2

1936 RCA Victor Model T7-5

1941 Motorola Model 103CK2

1937 Sparton Model 987

1939 Silvertone Radio model 6424

"green" and "red" bands (though you can see the "yellow" too).

Note that the scales are visible in the "green" band setting but the color is gone, except for green (bottom). And that this requires a stack of glass plates @ about 10lbs. Better control of the light when mounted in the cabinet.

I realized the exposed chassis shots of the Strat did not do it justice. Here are some in the daytime. I might try some night shots with a real camera later.

These are starting with the "green" band - broadcast and going to band 5 "silver/white" (I think). Notice that on some settings the bands are visible but the color is gone. Also the "split second" dial is always lit. This is the 6th layer.

P.S. Yes the pointer is upside down. Next time I pull the chassis for a bulb or something I'll turn it over.

Wow, Russ, beautiful!!!

Here's my American Bosch 620.  A classic, edge-lit dial with a magically-appearing dial pointer.
