Suprise! Philco Mystery Dials built in Finland
#1

On doing some completely unrelated research I followed this link to this VERY long web page:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.p...&start=225

About 40% down the page there is a description of Philco Mystery Dial sets being built under license in Finland. Icon_surprised .. Don't know if that tid-bit has appeared here since I can't seem to enter a search query here..

Now back to my real task of researching Soviet made radios of the 1950s.

Surprise!

There is some misinformation in those posts. I will elaborate later. For now, however, suffice it to say that the the photo purporting to show "A typical ASA Radio Dealership of the 1930’s" is actually a photo of a Philco dealership in the USA, taken from an issue of the Philco Serviceman.

Directly below that, the photo allegedly showing "An ASA Radio Repair Workshop of the 1930’s" is actually a Philco dealer in Colombia, again, taken from Philco Serviceman.

Oh...that was you on Peter's Radiosvit site

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
