Canadian Philco #366 (60B USA). If I insert an audio signal just before the Type 75 and Type 42 tubes the signal appears at the loudspeaker. Inserting the signal at the volume control does not get to the loudspeaker. The radio was working, but a small pop came out of the peaker and it stopped working. Band selector switch tests okay, but quite stiff and is set to AM Standard frequency. If not a tube, then what?

Hi John and welcome,
So what if you apply an audio signal pin 4 of the 42, then to pin 2 of the 75 though a cap as there is HV at this connection and finally the the cap of the 75.
I'm assuming that the chassis has been serviced w/new caps and resistor have been checked to be within 20%.
