My Mershon disassembley method
#1

Would like to share this method I tried with success.
First part I read on another thread to remove the cap worked great.
To remove the caps, I froze the can for a few days.
Then I immersed the top cap in boiling water.  Used a pair of rubber gloves wrapped around the cap with a set of channel locks for a grip.
GENTLY twist them off. They came off very easy.

Next, I thought of a neat way to get at the insides.

Invert the can on a stationary belt sander and sand lightly.
Took less than 2 minutes.

No digging, drilling, cutting etc.

You can even solder the piece you removed back in there some how if you really want to be cool.   Icon_e_geek

Glad to be of some help.
There are people on here that seem to know everything about these antique radios.
Hope my little 2 cents helps.

Neat!

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
