Philco 70 & 90 cathedral dial faces
#1

Are the dial faces for these radios the same? My 90 has a real dark dial face and I have an extra 70 face that's much better. How do you get the old one off the 90? I'm hoping you don't have to drill rivets....

Also, the 70 dial face has penciled stations written on it. Any idea how to remove them, without marking it up?

I have used mineral spirits to clean the dial face. It worked well. Try a spot on the writing that will not show just to be sure it won't rub off. Don't use water. I believe the 70 and 90 are the same. But the dial assembly might not be. You would then have to drill out the rivets and use small bolts and nuts to replace.
I did that on a model 70 and bought a replacement from here for it.

Thanks Mike. I definitely want to use an original, not a repro on this original finish radio.
