Philco 40-81
#1

Hello,

Recently purchased a Philco battery operated radio model 40-81. It has a canvas covering with a strip print. Anyone know if replacement canvas is available. I did Google but found nothing under the terms I used anyway. Was told this is where all the Philco experts are.  Thanks all.

Welcome to the Phorum!

No one makes a reproduction canvas/cloth so if you want to recover it you will have to look for something made for another purpose. Hopefully someone on the phorum might have some leads to help you track something down.

Hi and welcome aboard,
As Bob mentioned I don't think there is any exact replacement for your tweed portable. How ever you may find something similar by looking for tolex. Took a quick look and found: http://www.thevintagesound.com/store/tol...6k5bn475m2

Now I think I've got!

Thanks much.  I will check that out.

A fabric store would be your best bet, since it was a varnished canvas or cotton cloth then used, Tolex is more like plastic then cloth.
