Complete Philco 926
#1

Hello Forum...I have a fully functional Philco radio model number 926 that needs a new home.  This was my uncles that passed away before he could do anything with the radio.  I know that before he passed, he had then radio restored.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in buying this radio.

Thank you,

Matt

Welcome to the Phorum Matt!

I've moved your post to the 'For Sale or Trade' section. Please update your post with an asking price per the rules for selling item - described here:
http://philcoradio.com/phorum/forumdisplay.php?fid=15

926 isn't a complete Philco model number. From searching the Philco Gallery the only match I found for that was the 50-926:

Is that the model you are selling?

If you have pictures that you could share that would help prospective buyers evaluate it.

It might be a 50-926.  I can send you a picture of it if you would like.  It has the speaker, dial and push button all connected.   I don’t have a value on it so I was hoping that someone could shed some light on that for me.

Matt

Above the 926 model number is another number...S91482.  I don’t se a 50 in from of the 926

Copy on providing a price and pictures.  I really have no idea of the value and would love some advice.  I will post pictures later today.

Thank you,

Matt

Good morning Kirk,

Here it is all together.  For some reason I can’t add but one picture.  If you want more please let me know what I can do to add more.

Thanks,

Matt

Oooooh, Ok it is a car radio... The speaker is a 926 and you have the tone control unit. The head does not seem to be Philco....
Maybe Motorola...??
Is there any number or Philco plate on it?

This is the 50-926.

Yours is a car radio.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Tis this one:  http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymodel...013892.pdf
Not sure abt the value. Radio collectors probably not going to be your best
option unless they have a 1938 or so car to put it in. Antique car market may
be better choice. Most of the time these sets are missing the control head and
or the control cables. Nice to see a complete one.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

As for price..
I paid $40.00 for my radio and $20.00 for my control head.
I have not seen your head before so it could bring a little more?
That is if it is Philco.. If it is not then they would sell better separately.
Look for a name when you can

I moved this thread to the auto radio section so the discussion about value can continue. When you decide on an asking price you can then post in the For Sale or Trade section.

Thanks Bob...I’m trying to learn more about so I can better inform people on it and provide a reasonable price for it.

Interesting set, the tuning head is for a 37 Ford, its a one year only fit as the dash was redesigned in 38.

remarkably, one just showed up on ebay.

here's a site with pics of many old philco car radios. it identifies models 936 and 937 as being similar to model 926.
