Need Help!!!
#1

Hi new here. I have inhareted a beautiful Philco consol/radio from a family member and I’m having some problems with it. First when I power it on I can here a hum but the turntable will not move or play and the radio will not play. What could i be missing? Also I can’t seam to figure out what’s model I have. The sticker on the back states that it is a 6185655 model but I can’t find anything on the web with that number. Any help would be great thank you.

Welcome!

That sticker doesn't sound like a model number. Have a look at this guide to Philco identification and see if there's any other info you can provide:

Pictures would also be a big help for any of the helpful Phorum experts to id.

Thanks for the reply. This is what’s on the back of the cabinet.

It looks like your picture didn't attach correctly.

Have a look here for info on how to add images to your posts:

Let’s try this.

It'd be probably better if you have just shown the radio itself.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

It is most likely a mid 60's console combo.
It will need to be overhauled for proper function. The record player is gunked with old grease and the Spinning wheel (Idler) is probably rock hard and needs new rubber.

I’ll snap a pic of the whole thing when I get back home.

I figured the whole thing needed to be gone through to reall get up and running again. Any feelings as to why the radio would not be working?

Would this happen to be a pic of your set??
