41-608 speaker part number?
#1

Besides missing the original record changer, my project 41-608 is also missing speaker and tubes. Could someone provide the speaker part number for this unit? There's what appears to be a 40-185 being parted out on eBay, and the speaker seems in good physical condition. Is this the same part, and if not, should it work for my radio, assuming the mounting pattern matches?

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Hi Brian

40-185 - 36-1479-2 or 36-1479-4
41-608 - 36-1528-4

Both are 12 inch speakers. The 1479 has a 1100 ohm field coil; the 1528 has a 1000 ohm field.

(Info from the 1946 Philco parts catalog.)

In short...Yes, the 40-185 speaker will work in your 41-608.
