zenith 12s568 issue
#1

Brought home another of these beauties this weekend.
Friend of mine was clearing some radios out.
Pulled the chassis, checked tubes and replaced a few weak ones, checked cadohm resistor and looked it over.
E-caps have been replaced previously.
Powers up fine and does have audio, but no reception on any band.
Tried tweeking the alignment thru the adjustment screws on the If cans.
Noticed one of the cans had no response to adjusting either of the screws.
Seems like an open coil somewhere for sure.
What would you guys suggest I try next?
I have another of these that I did a year ago, and they are super players with great sound.
I see I will be replacing some rubber wire again on this one.
Happy 4th everyone!

I'd ohm out the coils to see if you have an open somewhere like you suspect.  Also if it has crumbling rubber wire and some old paper caps those could also be causing problems, but I personally like to know if my coils are good before doing much else.

What John said.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.
