Another model 89 Radio from h**L…. Help!
I am looking for advice.
I have started on a philco model 89 code 121  It has a 36 tube for the oscillator circuit.  The first coil checked  (Input to the RF amp ) has an open primary, photo attached.  What is the best way to approach this?  It appears that I will have to cut The coil out from the cylinder, rewind it and glue it back in.
I could also use a decent schematic as the Riders schematic is very poor. Does anyone know where I can find one

I can use advice from  anyone who has done this repair.  Does anyone know the impedance , # of windings , wire size or resistance of this coil?
Thanks

Hello. If you have a Djvu reader on the computer you can download the schematic from here.

It's a lot clearer than the one you mentioned.

Or...

just look within this Phorum for the schematic in the Tech Section.

Also not to be missed (but people do miss it, for some reason) is the Evolution of the Philco Model 89 page here on the Phorum, which discussed the many changes to Model 89 over its three and a half year production run.

Finally finished the Philco model 89.  Thanks for all the advice.
It was a challenge following the schematics.
Appeared to be a combination of two different schematics.
Had to rewind the primary of L2.  It wasn’t pretty but it works.
Nasty winding that much fragile wire on such a small spool.
