Philco 41-255 On/Off Pushbutton
#1

I have spent 3 days searching for Ron's thread on replacing this switch with the one from Lowe's.  I know I looked at it a few months ago but now I can't find it anywhere. I have found links to it in different threads but all of them are broken.  Can someone help me out?  Any other good information on methods for replacing this switch would be appreciated too.

The one I am replacing is actually on a 256. A previous owner had it replaced with an switch in the volume control.  The original push button switch is still in place with the wires snipped. I have tested it and it works intermittently. The wire stubs are too short for a good solder connection and my thought is to replace it with a new switch and restore the volume control to original with NOS I got from Play Things of the Past.

Thanks
Dwayne

Please let me know which threads have broken links to this, and I will correct them. Thanks.

Thanks, Ron.  I will go back and try to find them so I can let you know.  As it happens so many times, I think this was right under my nose. Icon_rolleyes

I fixed my 41-300X by mounting a small piece of brass stock and soldering it to the original brass rivets. Sw was nos radio shack.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts

figure out what all those squiggly meant.

All of the broken links were from ARF so I think it is an external problem.  Thanks again for pulling my head out. I was sure your procedure was in a thread on the 41-255 so when I opened the 41-226 thread and quickly looked at the very different chassis, I didn't scan far enough to find what I needed.  Gotta slow done sometimes and look at the trees.

Radioroslyn,
There is more than one way to skin a cat!  (Figure of speech - no actual cats are skinned) Icon_smile  Nice solution.
