Hi Guys,
I have an interesting problem that is driving me crazy. On this AM/FM radio I have replaced all caps, tested the resistors, tested the tubes and replaced 2. I aligned it, both AM and FM with a VTVM and everything checked ok. The problem is that AM works great, but FM will not pick up any stations. Only dead air anywhere on the dial. Is there anything that anyone can think of? Any help will be appreciated.

So I'm a little lost. If you did the alignment for the FM section was it working then??

Hi Terry,
That's what is driving me crazy. The alignment went just the way it was supposed to, but just dead air.
Thanks,
Eric

So you can pickup the FM signal from the generator @ 98mc?

The selector switch on those sets can be a pain. Try giving it a good cleaning.

I checked it again. @ 98 it comes through all over the dial. Does that tell you anything?

Happy new year everyone. Sorry it took a while to get back to you, but after reading, searching the internet and pulling my hair out, I found the problem. It was a bad cap on the FM osc. coil. I replaced it with a cap from a junk chassis and all is fine.
Thanks to everyone who had some input.
