RCA 61-8 Output Transformer
#1

I have a RCA 61-8 that I'm doing for a friend and the output transformer is open, the thing is it has three leads on the primary in stead of two. The print shows a tap and 9 ohms. I usually use a PT-291 from AES as a replacement, Will this work? What do I do about the third lead how can it be connected or can it?

You don’t need a transformer with the tap if one is not readily available. Any AA5 OP transformer will do. Take a look the the schematic I attached. It is a simple radio with only the 1.5K resistor between the two filter caps and no tap. The transformer input would connect to the rectifier cathode and output to the OP tube plate on your set.

Yup, I found a old output and hooked it up and and it does work now I have to find a smaller one that I can fit in not a lot of room. Thanks
