Philco PT-25--BIG MESS
#16

Ron, I understand..Not blaming Chuck.. I'm sure that was all he had.. But I was hopeing he had more..

This thing is such a mess that I need as much info and parts layout I can get..Otherwise its going in garbage..

That would be a shame as the Case is really in great shape.. But getting frustrated

Still changing wires.. found many more crumbled.. looks like a complete rewire job.. NOT FUN..

Keeping me busy on these Long Snowy Nights.. Supposed to get 3-6 inches more tonight..

That's what they promise.

It is mostly raining here now but looking like a bit of snow while it is falling, though it is melting while falling.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Ok I have a question.. The Cap across the AC line Part 25 Says its a .04 Should that be replaced with a Y2 or X2 cap.. I have a X2 at .047.. I know I can probably due away with it also..

That's FBOM. It's just there to filter rf noise out before it get into the set. These days there's a lot of noise so not all that effective.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

When first powered on I had terrible motor boating across the band.. I forgot to Ground 2 of the tubes.. The 7B6 and 7B7.. After grounded set works with NO hum and no more motor boating.. On to alignment..
