Philco Model 90 Tuning Dial
#1

Hello friends. I just restored a Philco model 90. Turned out great. As with many of these, the tuning knob/dial slips when tuning. It turns but the dial does not. does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this tuning bushing or where to obtain a new one?  Thank you.

Hi Jon and welcome,
Would have replied sooner  but it's been along time since I've serviced a model 90. So what's the problem? Is the tuning shaft pinching the inside of the dial hub correctly?? Is the tuning shaft worn badly so pinching mechanism can't grip the hub. Spring weak?

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Hi Terry . Sorry for the late reply. The radio is put back together. I can tune the radio if I push down on the tuning knob as I turn the tuning knob. I have two model 90's with the same problem. One is worse than the other however. It is irritating indeed. The restore turned out excellent however. Could you send me a private message so I can send you my contact information?
