Philco 48-1805 3rd eye or knob...
#1

I saw this yesterday.
It is pretty neat with the 3rd knob. One is just a switch from radio to record player. Then the tuning knob and a volume knob. On the US versions the volume knob is also a switch for the RP and radio. counter clockwise for RP and then more to bring up volume. Clockwise to turn on radio and more for volume.

Interesting.  Where's this one from?

I'll have to admit....having that same weird  switch / volume control on the 48-1256 here is odd.

That's curious...

I'm trying to get some information on this one I've got for restoration and looks just like that one... also from Portugal! But still don't understand what are those two holes on the radio screen on my philco...

If you are speaking of the glass thing with numbers on it it's known as the dial. The dial on your set is not the original. It's from a different set. The holes are where the knobs were fitted on whatever set it came from.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

Thanks Radioroslyn!
