I Finally got it! just in time, the chassis almost went out the window..

Just to put a bow and icing on this thread, I had the same problem as bfrohwein. Trimmer 20 bottoming out before 580 kz from Signal Gen. could tune in. Per Mondial put a 180p silver mica across C-20 and all is well. Proper tracking high and low with great sensitivity. Thanks all, John.

Excellent!   That radio was a bit of a challenge.. still works though.. ;-)
