American Bosch 31 question
#1

Now, as I mentioned in my finds post, this radio has been mostly recapped already with good tubes and even the dial light replaced. Need to redo a little repair on the speaker cone, but no biggie there. So, when I get the filter caps replaced, would I be safe to use regular electrolytic caps or would this radio still require the heavier caps like earlier models? I know radios that use the big box from 1930 on back usually require the big orange drop or mylar caps due to current ripple.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Would use mylars and keep the values close to original.

Thanks! I was just wondering as the filter can on this radio looks way more serious than even the Mershon type you usually see by the time they made this set. There's also a big cardboard covered cap under the chassis that reads: 450 volts at 8 MFD. If I read it right. It's rather faded.

No matter where you go, there you are.
