Philco 200X
#1

I have a 200X that the top is missing the center section of veneer. Anyone have a pic or know what the grain orientation is for this section?

figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Could it perhaps be like my 201X, only without the inlay?

Not so much the 200X has no inlay on the top nor is the edge routed. The inlay is on the edges.

Tnx Much!
Though it would face front to back but wasn't sure.
Was your 201X top difficult to remove? I got two 200X cabinets one the top is missing all the veneer and is warped the other is just missing the center section veneer. I'm thinking I'm going to switch the tops, one cabinet has a 201 chassis and sticker (Kirk's frankenradio).

The top on the 201X was pretty easy to remove. I just took our all of the screws that went into the top and gently tapped it around the perimeter from the inside of the cabinet with a rubber mallet.

The top had clearly also been glued down (in addition to the screws) but the glue had weakened to the point that the top came off pretty easily. There were 10 or so screws holding down the top so I didn't bother regluing it.
