Norelco Bi-Ampli B5X88A
#1

I picked this up locally the other day. Its in pretty nice condition.   I like some of these Euroboxes.  Its no Opus 6 like have, but it is a decent performer.

Very nice set. Is that green thing in the upper right a tuning indicator?
#3

I would think so. It looks like an EM84 or similar indicator tube. My Dad's Philips tape recorder had one, used as a level indicator.

I don't hold with furniture that talks.

Yes, its a tuning strength indicator.

And if you compare my first pic with this one, you can see a change.  It was missing the trim piece that goes around the front bezel.  I strained my brain trying to find something that would work, and after trying a few other things with no success, I ended up using two strand speaker wire. The transparent type, and I split the strands and used the silver one to press into the groove. IT fits real snug and I used a rubber mallet to get it seated.  Unless you knew what you were looking for, I doubt anyone would even notice.

Very clever, very good repair with the wire in place of the missing front panel trim. Looks good. Icon_thumbup
