model 41-240 code 121
#1

Just got finished putting back together this project.
Saw that nothing has been shown on this model on the Phorum.
So here it is, some new caps, new leads to IF can, put all
Philco vac tubes in plus a couple of other things.
See if you can find a part that I will be changing.
An maybe some leads of what the right one looks like or how to get one.

Well, let's hope you're gonna change ALL of those paper capacitors!, Icon_wtf

. . But  I guess you're referring to that Sanyo loudspeaker.
#3

No, sorry sir that is not what caught my eye.
"spot it in the second picture".
and take a look at a link to see what things
happen in 1941.

If you are looking for a source for parts then this http://www.tuberadios.com/capacitors/  is a good one. Most of the time I'll get a sack of 25 caps of a given value not so much the onezy or twozy. If you are a stickler you can restuff the foil/paper caps using some brown colored hot glue in the ends. You may want to grab some wire too as your set has the old failing rubber coated stuff. While you are replacing the caps it's a good time to measure the resistors and replace the bad wires. I typically will replace all the rubber wire that carries the hv some do all of the wire but I'm lazy.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

Speaker?

The wires to the dial light? They're in bad shape.

I'm glad you spotted it, I was beginning to
think it was suppose to be there, not
I was shocked to see it in there.
my paper said it should be part #36-1510,
dose anyone have a pic of it, not finding it
on the internet.
Wa3uay, maybe I need to do that kind
of game again but offer a prize, that would be fun

No wonder I didn't see it. I have been looking at the 3rd picture. LOL.

Jake spotted it way back near the beginning, and I quote, "... But I guess you're referring to that Sanyo loudspeaker. "

Oh well, easy come, easy go Icon_smile

It was a lot easier than I thought. Your reference to 1941 threw me for a loop. I thought this radio may have had its shortwave disabled but the first photo showed it had all of the coils in place so that wasn't it.

Looks like this model has three of these dial lights. The wires to the lamp holders should be easy to unsolder and replace.
