Airline 62-196
#1

Just finished an Airline 62-196 tombstone. 7 tube, 3 band radio with some neat features. All 3 bands are on the southern 180 degrees of the dial, or are from 90 degrees to 270 degrees. They are color coded and a a light switches from colored indicator to a different colored indicator in the lower center of the dial to indicate which band the radio is recieving. The top half of the dial has the relative positions for circa 1935 stations, for the most part they are opposite the freq (lower) side of the dial. WPTF Raleigh is located exactly opposite 680 KHz on the dial, which is correct. There are also "mini dials" that indicate tone and on/off/volume that are on the left and right side of the dial face. Also included is a "broad" and "sharp" selectivity switch that either allows or dis allows a wide (broad) range of audio freqs to be heard. Additionally there is a "dual" volume control feature that consists of a "normal" 500K ohm pot ganged with an additional 2500 ohm pot that reduces reciever sensitivity at low volume to cut down on noise between stations. A neat set.
