Finally out of the attic!!!
#1

Well guys, I finally pulled this beauty out of the attic with a little help. Managed to not damage it getting it down. Everything seems to work!! The tube take a couple minutes to warm up and the speakers have explosions of sound quite a bit while tuning and adjusting the volume but the sound does come through at low levels. If anyone has any advice on components that should be preemptively replaces to ensure the set keeps operating or any tips in general, I would sure appreciate it.

First tip ... DO NOT plug it in again until you replace capacitors and any out of spec resistors. Plugging in a set full of old components is just asking for disaster to happen. By the way, what model are you commenting about ... no photos are attached. Take care and BE HEALTHY! Gary

I merged your two "Finally out of the attic" posts together.

As Gary said replace the capacitors. It's probably new enough that it most are going to be ceramic. On the other hand the eletrolytic caps should be replaced if they haven't been in the last 20yrs or so. The picture of the screen tells me that there maybe an issue with the power supply as the raster isn't filling the screen. Definitely would measure the hv at the p/s and the boost line to see if it is within reason.

figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

Wow nice unit! As Gary said do not plug it in again before you or someone else goes  through the whole console. You do not want to burn it up.  Icon_e_sad
