Hmmmm. Only 6. I think I'm up to about 22 with 9 in the basement! The rest are in the Organ Showroom/Radio Museum/airplane hanger! This HAS to stop!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, maybe, you could rotate them in and out of display, or start building shelves for them? I actually need to get rid of the more ordinary ones. I think there are only two rooms in the basement that do not have a console in them, the laundry room, and the bathroom. I have eleven consoles in the house, counting a radio-phono combo someone gave me, and two empty console cabinets. In my storage building/shop I have another eleven, with another late 40s early 50s radio phono combo some gave me, with one empty cabinet that is a part donor for a G.E I have in the basement. I guess that I technically have 22 consoles counting the combo units. The sick part is that at least five of these were gifts.

I always said I would only have one console. I now have three. Besides my 41-280 I acquired a 40-180 and a Freed Eisemann Model 10 neutrodyne in a combination chassis cabinet and battery storage shelf. The Freed Eisemann also has a built-in wooden horn speaker. All it needs is an ARBE III and some TLC if it's owner ever gets to work on it. Take care and BE HEALTHY! Gary

And I adore consoles for their wonderful and unique sound and for their unique design. Now in my collection of 9 pieces and two chassis (RCA 811K and Scott Phantom deLUXE), I think it's very small. However, I had to service many devices that did not belong to me and therefore I can express my opinion about this type of radio and the approach to its manufacture in different countries. Usually in Europe simple radio consoles with number of radio lamps no more than 7 ... 8 were built. And in each country tried to apply the national features. For example, radio consoles of Italian companies were very rich in accessories and beauty of style, but quite simple in design radio. German pre-war consoles were also very simple, moreover, in my opinion - with a very specific and ugly design. I don't like them. Phillips, as always, was very versatile. But I like American radio consoles the most for their technical excellence and beautiful design and ... Swedish, for the beautiful veneer and elegant handmade inlay. That's why in my collection I left this wonderful DUKS of the year 50 and all the Americans I had

Some companies had nicer cabinets, and radios for export, like Zenith often did.
