DeForest Crosley console
#1

I bought this radio from a fellow in Edmonton, and I have it recapped, and playing good.
 I had to rebuild the system that controls the dial. It is a system that uses  a wire wound around the tuning dial knob and the top portion with the actual dial.
   The indicator is three lights that rotate around as you change stations. Each band has its own light.
   I will get to the cabinet in the spring. It is not a high tube count, but I really like the cabinet and the dial.
   I have a pretty good idea of what it will look like after I am done.

These Rogers and DeForest  radios all have very nice dials.   It Is a model  7D932

Dan;
  Is that a Deforest Crosley "Prescott"? Someone donated the remains of one in a local military museum, both I, and the man in charge, really wish that they had have left the original innards in it rather then getting cute trying to turn it into a glorified speaker. So I have been keeping my eyes open for a junker, with a trashed cabinet, or a spare chassis to put it right. Of course I have to keep my eyes open for a junk chassis/set to donate an IF can for my D.C "Brahms".

The radio that I have is  called   the  Laurentian. The Prescot has a different cabinet ,with different grill bars.
 I suppose that they both have the same chassis. Here is a photo of the Prescot.

Dan;
  Never mind, I found the difference, the "Laurentian" has nine tubes, whereas the "Prescott" has eight. In this case it looks like the "Laurentian" has a tuned RF amplifier stage as it has two 6K7Ms, that a neon bulb. https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/deforest_l...7d932.html
