Philco 37-620
#1

Hi guy's,
Replaced all caps and some resistors, tested all tubes. The problem I have when I turn it on after a few seconds it will have some static and cut in and out (the sound) just for a few more seconds. After about 20 or 30 seconds it will play great with no problems. I did replace the 5Y4G no improvement. What should I look for.

Hi Jim,
Try pulling tubes start with last If if static disappears you know it’s probably coming before, if it’s still there you probably know it’s in the audio or power supply.

Check for cold solder connections.

Also on this radio volume control has a flat spot or very low audio about half way thru the control. Can this be repaired or would it need a new control.

Just replace it. Not worth the trouble and it won't last.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!
