PILOT X65
#1

Hello,
I have a pilot radio, model X65. Year 1935.
It has the following valves: 6D6, 6A7, 6D6, 75, 42, 80.
The power transformer is burnt.
I have to replace it.
I would appreciate where I can find a new one. Is there a company that manufactures this type of transformers?
Thank you

Antique Electronic Supply, if you can not find a closer source, they do not manufacture transformers, but they do have a large selection of them. I have never bought a new power transformer, so far I have been lucky enough to find enough scrap equipment to supply a used one. I think AES has a generic power transformer that will work with a 6 tube set, with 5 6.3 volt tubes, plus a 5 volt rectifier tube, the best selection is under replacement transformers for guitar amplifiers. There is a good chance that your Pilot radio was actually British made, unless you have a label that says otherwise.

Please make sure the  transformer if ordered from Antique Electronic Supply has a input voltage of 230-240 volts. USA voltage would be 110-120 volts. David

Thank you very much for your comments.
I have a 225/110 transformer. 50 years ago, in Spain, we had a current of 125.
A friend has given me a transformer that can work well.
The features are:

375-0-375 70mA
4-1 2A
2.5-4 2A
70W

6D6, 6A7, 75 tubes consume 0.3A, Total: 1.2A
Tube 42 consumes 0.7 A
Overall: 1.9A

The 80 consume 2A.

A bit fair. But it can work.

What is your opinion?

Renovated Radios do carry what you need. As for the voltage, a wire should be at least 300V-rated.morzh — 11:13 PM
