A-361 radio

Hi! I am new to the phorum. I am looking for schematics for an 1942 A-361 Philco radio in a floor model cabinet. The tuner string is broken and we would like to replace it and need to know how to correctly restring it. Any help is appreciated!

You can find the service information for model A361 here: https://philcoradio.com/library/download...20Book.pdf Unfortunately, this does not include a dial stringing diagram. The radio chassis is basically the same as the F-1942 auto radio, modified to operate on 110-115 volts AC. However, its service data also does not include a dial stringing guide. https://philcoradio.com/library/download...20Book.pdf There was a Dial Cord Stringing Guide published by Howard W. Sams & Company in 1947, but it does not include the A361 or the F-1942. Judging from your location, there are two radio clubs near you - the Mid-America Antique Radio Club in Kansas City, and the Oklahoma Vintage Radio Collectors in Oklahoma City. Perhaps one of these clubs might be able to help? Perhaps this will be a help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65UTJP8w...iveOhSeven After perusing the schematic I would get rid of 65 and 66. If they are leaky or short it will take out the power transformer in short order. I suspect it's a throw back from the car radio design using a vibrator. In that circuit it helps saves the contacts therein. They are unnecessary. GL with your project! When my pals were reading comic books I was down in the basement in my dad's workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to figure out what all those squiggly meant. Circa 1966 Now I think I've got! Terry

Thank you Ron, for the response! I will follow up on your suggestions. I have already tried the Kansas City site but didn't have any luck. I took it up to someone up there to look at but since it has the car radio in it, as it should, they weren't able to fix it. I didn't see any reference to a club in OKC, so I will look them up!
